Dedicated internet access for sites that cannot guess on bandwidth
Dedicated internet access is the address-first upgrade when shared broadband contention is already hurting voice, uploads, or multi-site reliability. SourceNet compares DIA options for committed capacity and clearer commercial terms, not a “fast fiber” marketing label alone.

Who buys dedicated internet access
DIA is a specialist purchase. It fits offices, clinics, warehouses, and multi-site HQs that need predictable upload, lower contention, and a real escalation path when the circuit fails. It is not the same shopping trip as “cheap home fiber.”
- Cloud phone and video quality problems on shared broadband
- New construction or office moves that need engineered circuits
- Sites pushing large uploads, backups, or industry apps
- Primary circuits that will sit behind SD-WAN or firewall stacks
What you receive on a DIA quote request
Address-level availability drives everything. Share service addresses, target bandwidth, contract timing, and whether voice or SD-WAN will ride the circuit. When coverage and fit exist, you get comparable paths with install and term notes stated plainly.
- Scope summary: addresses, target speeds, timeline, and underlay role
- Workable carrier paths when the suite can be served
- Tradeoffs on term, construction risk, failover, and product class
- Next step: you choose; provider delivers and supports the circuit
What we need to quote dedicated internet access well
Carriers do not serve every suite the same way. Incomplete addresses slow everything. Building contacts and install windows help when special construction is in play.
- Service address(es) and suite notes
- Target down/up or “symmetric X Mbps / Gbps” goals
- Install timeline and building management contacts if known
- Whether voice or SD-WAN will ride the circuit
DIA vs business broadband and high speed internet
Business broadband and other high speed internet for business products can be the right cost trade for light sites. DIA costs more because you buy dedication and clearer performance terms. We will not upsell DIA when cable or fiber broadband meets the job. We will push back when softphones and multi-site VPN share a congested last mile.
Pair DIA with voice when you are replacing both
Many quote requests combine dedicated internet access with a cloud phone system refresh. That is smart when bad WAN is the hidden cause of “VoIP complaints.” Select both service interests or choose mixed voice and connectivity on the form.
DIA as the underlay for managed SD-WAN
Multi-site designs often put dedicated internet access under managed SD-WAN for policy, visibility, and cleaner failover. DIA is the pipe. Managed SD-WAN is the overlay. If that is your project shape, say so up front so underlay and overlay are quoted as one plan.

FAQ
Is dedicated internet access the same as business fiber?
Fiber is a medium. DIA is a service product with dedicated capacity and business terms. You can have fiber broadband that is still shared. Ask for the product type, not only the marketing word “fiber.”
How long does DIA install take?
It varies by building, market, and construction needs. Some sites are weeks. Others need months if special construction applies. Timeline honesty is part of a useful quote. We do not publish a universal install SLA.
What if my address has limited coverage?
We say so. Options may include alternate product classes (business broadband, fixed wireless), longer construction, or no viable path. Address checks beat guessing from a national map.
Can you quote backup circuits too?
Yes. Primary DIA plus failover broadband or cellular is a common design. Mention failover needs in notes.
When should we stay on business broadband instead of DIA?
When traffic is light, budgets are tight, and you do not need committed upload or strict performance terms. Start with high speed internet for business quotes if you are unsure. We will say when DIA is overkill.
Does DIA fix every VoIP quality issue?
It removes a lot of last-mile contention risk, but Wi-Fi, firewalls, and LAN design still matter. Describe where calls fail today so we do not treat bandwidth as the only lever.
How is SourceNet paid on connectivity deals?
There is no fee to start a quote request. If you proceed with a provider we help place, SourceNet may be compensated by that provider. Fit and availability still drive the shortlist.
What is DIA dedicated internet access in one sentence?
DIA dedicated internet access is a business circuit product with committed capacity (often symmetric) and clearer performance or support terms than shared broadband.
